Developing Disciples

NGLBC serves to develop Christian disciples. Christian discipleship is the process by which disciples grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit resides in our hearts to overcome the pressures and trials of this present life. It makes us become more and more Christlike. This process requires believers to respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting. The Holy Spirit examines the believers thoughts, words, actions and compares them with the Word of God. This requires that we be in the Word daily—studying it, praying over it, and obeying it.

Building Families

NGLBC works to build a Christian family where all members are committed to Christ and His service. When a husbands, wives and children all fulfill their God-appointed roles, then peace and harmony reign in the home. But, if we try to have a Christian family without Christ as Head or without adhering to the biblical principles the Lord has lovingly provided for us, the home will suffer.

Strengthening Communities

Acts 2:42-47 reveals that the original “Christian community” was known primarily for its devotion to Christ’s teachings and its love for one another. NGLBC labor to cultivate a Christian community who loves Jesus and lives in fellowship with each other. When the world sees this in action, they will see the true love of Jesus and perhaps find themselves attracted to Christ.

What We Believe

We believe that there is one God, infinitely perfect and eternally existent in the persons of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

· We believe the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His Ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

· We believe the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe the fullness of the Holy Spirit as the empowerment of the Christian for witness and service. We believe that the Holy Spirit provides one or more spiritual gifts to all believers, manifesting them as He wills. We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operative today.

· We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that repentance toward God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are necessary to salvation.

· We believe the resurrection of the body.

· We believe the one, universal church, which is the Body of Christ. We believe Christ as its head. We believe all who are born-again as its members. We believe the church’s purpose as offering worship to God; fellowship, ministry, and instruction to itself; and evangelism and service to the world. We believe the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that the church is God’s instrument for revealing His purpose on the earth. We believe that the church (the people of God) is God’s instrument to distribute His glory on the earth. The church is defined as a gathering of believers, meeting and experiencing God together in order to display His goodness wherever they go.

· We believe believer’s baptism by immersion in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ.

· We believe the importance of regular participation in the Lord’s Supper.

· We believe the ministry and presence of angels, and the reality of the devil and demonic forces.
